Blueberry Muffins and Snow!

All Photography by MB

We got our first real snow today! I wish we had it for Christmas, but it's nice to finally have it.
This morning I decided to bake these muffins. I had been saying I was going to for a while (found the recipe online), and I woke up and started making them right away. It's funny how sometimes you just wake up and want to get to something ASAP, sometimes even before you've had breakfast (I'm guilty of this)!
If any of you open a bakery, cafe, or restaurant,  you had better call me up to photograph everything from the building itself to dishes and food! Hopefully by then I'll know more about photography though and get better at it, because I really do have a lot to learn.

I can hear you thinking now "mmmm, those muffins look good. I'd love to make them." If you were, in fact, thinking that here is the recipe: Blueberry Health Muffins. If you bake them let me know how they came out and if you liked them as much as my family and I do!

Happy Winter Everyone!

Sewing a Stocking

Slowly throughout the years my sibling have picked out and bought new, larger, and nicer stockings then the ones we had starting off as kids. It's probably a good thing because when my little sister came along I'm we just handed here a hand-me-down stocking, but this year she found one to replace it with. Leaving me the only kid who hadn't gotten a new stocking. This was mostly because I could never find on that I'd want in the stores, there was always something that turned me off to them (pink, flowers, laces, yes I'm totally a picky tomboy).

So myself, being who I am, came to the conclusion, "Why don't I just make one?!" a few days ago. And so I found some Christmasy fabric in the fabric closet, traced my sister's stocking, and started cutting.Ok there's probably a bunch of ways one could go about sewing a stocking, but for me I kinda just planned out what I wanted and then saw what happened as it went along. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, although I know there's a few mistakes here and there.

So that's what I did yesterday! What Christmas preparations are you up to these few days before Christmas?

Oh Christmas Tree...

This year my family cut down a tree from our backyard, ones that we had planted years ago and were getting too crowded. This tree is huge. It's over 10 feet tall, and pretty much touches the top of the ceiling, the highest ceiling in the house that is. Although this tree is beautiful, if we ever get a bigger tree, I'll have to sleep outside! I hope we never out-do this one.

I love the way the lighted christmas tree looks in the dark, so that's what I choose to do with these pictures. It's sort of magical, tall and lit up. And if you can't tell, I'm fascinated with white christmas lights!

A Tribute to Cinnamon Raisin Toast

Because sometimes a simple piece of cinnamon raisin toast, with some rich organic butter, it the yummiest thing.

Exploring a New Bakery

Our tasty treats: Doughnut Muffin, ginger cookie, coconut chocolate something
My younger brother (he's 14 yr.)

My little sister (she's 10 yr.)

My brother tried to get a picture of me, but it didn't work out so well haha, he zoomed in way too close!

My treat, it was delicious

My brother testing the stools to see if they spin. They did.

Today I went Christmas shopping with my younger brother and sister, in near by village, just the three of us. It was really nice sibling time, and after we shopped for what we needed, we decided to check out this gorgeous Bakery. And oh my!

It had a strong artisan feel, the place was all wood and country looking, but with great class. Every person had their own look, but somehow they all fit together. The place held a sense of appreciation for the community and environment. There was even a guy twirling pizza dough in the air to make it complete! Pizzas that would go into the brick oven shown above, I mean how perfect is that? I definitely feel in love with the vibes sent off from this bakery. To me, it felt like it belonged in the green mountains of Vermont. It just had that feel. It made me miss Vermont, so I know I'll be going back to this place soon!

On the way home my siblings and I song Christmas songs at the top of our lungs the whole way, and making up words or just humming the parts we didn't know. It was definitely a nice alone time with them.

Pancakes for Lunch

So today I was in the mood for pancakes, it was lunch time so I thought it would be the perfect time to whip some up! And why not photograph the process?

Forgive me I know this isn't some of my best work, but I wanted to put it up anyway. I was actually chatting with my mom on the phone while I took the majority of the photos. She kept asking "what's that sound?" and I answered in return "just making some pancakes, would you like some?". I do love to cook for people, at least when I'm in the mood haha.
