Finding the best Creemee (Vemont 2012)

Sunday came around.
My dear friends had things of their own to do that morning, so my brother and I needed something to do. An idea struck — "Go on an adventure to find the best creemee!"

So after my brother and I went to 8:30am Mass, we headed off (without having eaten breakfast mind you) to find the best creemee.
________________

We were up to early, nothing opened until 10am, so we stopped here to pass the time:

And I got this bumper sticker (yup I love VT that much):

Then we went back to sample our first creemee of the day!

Stop 1: Sunoco Gas Station
We got here too early (actually too early to all of the places) but when they finally opened, they hadn't turned on the all the machines yet, so my creemee wasn't very creamy. It had that almost crunchy, ice consistency — but the flavor was great. To make our comparisons fair, my brother got Black Raspberry at every stop, and I got maple.

Stop 2: Burlington Bay Market & Cafe
This one had a creamy consistency! Perhaps not as flavorful as the gas station creemee, but good.

Stop 3: Al's French Fries and Ice Cream
This one got the gold star. By far the largest size, it was creamy - great consistency and had good flavor. At this point I was getting sick of ice cream (after all this was our breakfast) and sadly could not finish the entire cone. But this was both our favorite!
Next time, I'll be getting the black raspberry - I think I'm done with maple for a while!

Vermont 2012 (Part 1 - the mountains)

To me, if you want to see a good view of the mountains in Vermont, the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe is a great spot. And that's where I took the photos shown here.

They have beautiful gardens, and a truly lovely view from atop their mountain.
You can almost find yourself singing "The hills are alive, with the sound of music" in your head!

They are such a site to be seen, I feel as though I could never tire of gazing out at the mountains.

I can't even tell you how good mountains are for the soul!

Vermont

Photography by MB

Early tomorrow morning I'll be heading off to Vermont.

There I will be visiting with great people, eating yummy food, enjoying the landscapes, hiking, fishing, bonfires and swimming in rivers.

I will also be taking a much needed break from the internet, and so I will not be on here until I return (in about a week).

I think it's been 4 years since I've last been up there. Becket (2006-2010), my beloved dog was with me last time, along with the rest of my family. This picture is from the last time - with him of course.

This time it's just my brother and I hitting the open road! I can't believe it's finally here, I've been wanting so long.

I am ready to have a BLAST!
Take care everyone.

Hair Cut!

This after noon - Hair cut

Not too drastically different, but it's perfect, just what I wanted.
Nice and short for summer.

Plus now I can actually see, those bangs who do they think they are? Hiding my eyes...

Also, trip on Thursday! Can't wait!

This is what's up

It's too hot to want to do anything. I mean really, who ordered all this heat?

So what do I do?

I grab some ice cream (lactose free for myself)

Cut up a peach, put it in some nice ice water
(Ice everything please)

And I sit down and watch one of my most favorite movies -
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

To be honest it's a pretty long movie (plus I am, of course, watching the extended version), so I only got through the first DVD and part of the second.
But it had been so long since I'd seen it, it was like I was watching it for the first time - while at the same time mouthing the lines with the characters. Go ahead, judge me.

Because Pie Is Always Good

Photography by MB

Especially outside,

While the sun is setting,

Even if it's not homemade.

(I seem to be really into food photography of late. You can be sure this won't be the last food-post.)

Parfaits

Photography by: MB

Something I've been into making lately.
I make them for my family. They each have slightly different requests my mom likes me to use her dairy-free coconut yogurt, coconut shreds, and some berries (shown here). That lady does love her coconut. My little sister just has some lovely vanilla yogurt, granola, and fruit.

I guess what I love is the presentation. I love making food that is not only delicious, but is pleasing to look at. Pretty food is good for the soul.

They're tell me they see a cafe or bakery in my future.
I tell them that might be fun.
