Every time I hear this word, I now think of a project from last semester...
Photography and Art Work by Mary Beth Osborn
Some of you may know I'm a Communication Design (think graphic design, only broader) student. I'm a freshman in my program and this project was from my first semester.
For this project, the teacher sent around an envelope, and from it we each picked a word. Clearly I got the word "Shenanigans". We were assigned to take the word and then illustrate it in a way that communicates the meaning of the word, with the thought that even if someone didn't know what the word meant, that they could somehow tell by looking at it.
And so here is what I came up with.
You finally get to see some of my design work! Cheering? Excitement? Nothing. Ok lets continue...
You can see all the sketches I went through, I don't know how many times I wrote the word "Shenanigans" by the time this project was done. So you can see why it would come to mind every time I hear or see this word!
The final piece is completely hand-drafted in marker. The mounting is also done by hand: hinged window matte and all! The design, of course, is original.
And so now I will forever have a history with the word Shenanigans, that mischievous little rascal!
This post was done for the GBE 2: Blog On group on Facebook, this week's topic: Shenanigans. Not sponsored or any of that jazz.
